The Innocents Abroad: or, The New Pilgrims' Progress

A travelogue from a century and a half ago, written by a shrewd traveler. It was originally a series of letters to a newspaper, and in these days would likely be in the form of a blog. It reflects the prejudices of the time, and parts of it make me think of The Ugly American of some decades ago. Its final chapter, almost an epilogue, is reminiscent of present day cruises and tour bus trips.
