It's true your attitude helps. But it's somewhat exaggerated to say that if you make up your mind not to chocolate etc. ever again, you would never ever want it and it will be easy to refuse. I am really not sure I would never want it again. She writes if you don't smoke, it's easy to refuse cigarettes too - I don't agree to that either. If you live in a big city you inhale the smoke passively and only that is enough to make you crave it when you are very, very stressed. I speak from experience. I don't smoke, never did, apart from 4-5 cigs that I tried out as a teenager, but then I decided it's not worth it, and never smoked again. But I do crave it!!! So yes, with willpower you can refuse, but I won't say it will always be easy. When someone is healthy, it's easier to refuse, but when someone has a burnout and depression from stress, for example, then it's not true that it's soo easy. However, when I manage to drop that excess weight, I will be very proud of myself how much willpower I have, and you can all be proud of yourself every time you say no to sweets and other unhealthy food.
