This book can definitely be read as a standalone. The romance is a slow build. The mystery and suspense grab you from the first page. Ronan and Tiff have this great chemistry. I wish we had been able to indulge just a little more in their growing relationship. The mystery was on point. There were things I thought I had figured out, but later realized I had pieces of the outline, but nowhere near the full story. I really enjoy a romantic suspense or mystery when all the pieces don't fall easily into my lap. At one point in the book, I noticed I was on Chapter 9. The next time I realized I had reached the beginning of a chapter, it was Chapter 28. A romantic suspense, murder mystery with a psychological twist, ending with an HEA. The only reason I am giving this a 4.5 is because I would liked to have seen more of Ronan and Tiff's relationship, and dived more into how their personalities meshed. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Keeps the suspense and romance rolling Tiffany, a history professor, is introduced to Ronan, a major crimes detective, when she goes to the police precinct to interview some detectives about a specific cold case that has ties to the present. As the story progresses his current case interferes, a different cold case intertwines, and if they cannot find the hidden pieces everything may be lost. Lori Ryan keeps the suspense and romance rolling in Wicked Justice. This book shows the gruesomeness of vigilante justice gone too far and blurring lines between justice and vengeance. I look forward to seeing the series continue, I just can’t figure out who it should be. I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

This third book in this suspense romance series, gives us the story of Detective Ronan Cafferty, partner of Detective Zack Reynolds, whom we met in the previous book, and professor Tiff Carson. Ronan is attracted to Tiff from the moment he meets her, but believes she’s too good for him. As they get to know each other, the doubts disappear and the attraction intensifies. Meanwhile, a well respected lawyer has been brutally murdered in an abandoned building and later his father goes missing. Why was the man murdered? Is it connected to another case? In this complex suspenseful story, one will have the reader on the edge of their seats, the detectives are realizing that it might all be connected to a forty year old case. Thanks to Tiff’s previous work, Ronan and his team get a lead. What happens when Tiff is put in danger? From the beginning the plot was engaging and the characters well developed. Though the story is a stand alone, I highly recommend reading the previous books. Both are well written and as is this one, very engaging. The story was also a reminder that the experiences one has as a child will forever affect the adult one becomes. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
