Langsam schlichen Karl Keller und Stephan Reichel durch die Nacht. Etwas lauerte vor ihnen in der Dunkelheit, das spürte Keller ganz deutlich. Er glaubte, ein Paar glühender roter Augen in der Finsternis aufleuchten zu sehen. Er blieb stehen und achtete für ein paar Sekunden nicht mehr auf seinen Begleiter.
