If you read Christine Feehan your aware her books are erotica with suspense, in the paranormal element. They all tend to have a darkness to them, this one included, because they deal with real elements in life, but all wrapped in family. The light, that always shines through to guide you during the darkness. This one had a mystery, I love those, and we still don't know who the new player is in town, but she sure got me hook line and sinker with the mystery!! Mitya doesn't move me, but Ania was awesome. So if she can accept him, then I must be missing something. Their story was action packed, intense (and I am not just talking the sex) and yet there was softness to give you hope. This line from Ania choked me up in its depth and its simplicity. **" I knew I had to do it to save us, but I didn't know he would take a piece of me with him when he died" ** Sigh. Thank you Christine Feehan thank you Berkley for the arc. I voluntarily leave my thoughts and opinions, all which were unsolicited.

The story didn't really take off until chapter 5 or so. I understand that it's a romance with eroticism but boy. I honestly can say that most of the time they were just sleeping with each other, and the story line felt more like an after thought.

Kinda disappointed with the story line. After all the build up from the other books, the confrontation between Mitya and Lazar was dull. Expected alot more .
