I'm absolutely loving this series following Amy and Ambrose investigate some chilling cases, while navigating their relationship. The case that they are investigating this time is one that is close to Ambrose' heart, which makes it a difficult case for him to investigate. But with Amy by his side giving her support and assistance throughout he manages to get through it. The ending is a cliffhanger leading onto the next book 📖 😳 I'm always excited to read the next book in this series because it's such a great series, but with this cliffhanger I really need to read it NOW 😁 I'd definitely recommend this series because Laura and Arizona are both great authors who write great characters with depth that you really invest in 🥰

Triggers: drugs, drug use, possible teen suicide. A bummer of a case indeed. It’s tragic really, all murder is but this one especially so. There’s happy highs and special surprises and life milestones to lighten the subject matter a bit, but still the tone is somber and rightfully so. I was a teacher and dealt with students who fell through the cracks and did my best to help them sometimes successfully sometimes not. It’s hard being a teen and it’s so sad when one dies young in an unnatural mann

Preconceptions can be deadly. A boy is dead and his girlfriend confessed. It can’t be that simple, can it? No. Not in the world of paranormal law enforcement. Amethyst finds herself taking a trip down memory lane with Ambrose. Meeting your boyfriend’s parents is never easy, either. This is a good addition to the series. It’s a well-written cozy mystery with some life lessons. The romance between Ambrose and Amy is special. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
