This was such an adorable story! Daphne Chambers, a witch who also can shift into a cat through an old family magical spell, is invited to attend the infamous vampire Yuletide Ball as Heath’s date. The ball is captivating! And then a disaster occurs with the Christmas tree. When there is a disruption people nervously back away from the huge Christmas tree, supported by magic, Daphne sees one of the birds caught by the wires keeping the lights on the tree. In the bird’s frantic struggles to get free, it is likely the huge tree will topple over. No one will be able to climb to the top with the extra load placed on the magic supports. But there is one person who can scamper up the tree and free the bird! This is such a cute holiday addition where we get to see old friends again. Daphne also is honored to meet the oldest vampire there, Lord Vladimir. It’s a magical night for Daphne and Heath. Grab your copy and come to the Ball!

What a cute, happy, and fun Christmas Novella. Laura Greenwood shows us a glimpse of Heath and Daphne during their Christmas and the Yuletide Ball filled with guests from previous books and some new characters. Once again Daphne finds herself in the middle of a catastrophe but I have to agree with her observation. "The best date ever."

I really enjoyed this short Christmas story about Grimalkin Academy and Daphne and Heath heading to a winter vampire ball. This is the first story that I have read in this series but I will definitely have to check out the others because I found out that Daphne has more than one boyfriend. I really loved the characters and that the story was written well and was very easy to follow along with. I wished the story was longer so I could read more about the characters but I guess that means I'll have to go check out all the rest of the books in this series now and I can't wait! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
