About this ebook

A discounted bundle of the first three Wasteland Chronicles books.

A world-ending meteor. An invasion of monsters. A desperate fight for survival...

Alex Keener has lived all of his sixteen years in Bunker 108. He's walked the same metal halls, seen the same faces, has followed the same rules. All that changes when a viral outbreak forces him to flee the safety of his bunker.

Outside, he discovers a barren world twisted by the impact of the meteor Ragnarok thirty years ago. Alone, he must wander a brutal landscape, where every breath is a fight for survival. Monsters haunt the planet's surface, and nothing of the old world remains.

Can Alex survive this hellish wasteland, or will he become its newest victim?

Book 1 Apocalypse - OMG this is by far the most amazing world-building dystopian novel I've ever read. The story is filled with fantastic but believable characters as they discover what changes have occurred in their part of the world. In the year 2030, the meteor Ragnarok impacted Earth, rending the world a wasteland. Billions died, the sky went crimson, and the world entered an ice age from which it will not emerge for centuries. By 2060, what is left of the United States exists underground in the Bunkers. Where once there were 144, now only four are left - fallen for reasons of starvation, rebellion, or worse. For in the wake of Ragnarok are new and sinister threats, threats which do not yet have a name...Born into this post-apocalyptic world is sixteen-year-old Alex Keener, who has lived his entire life underground in U.S. Bunker 108. But when a stranger is let into the Bunker from the wastes, in defiance of protocol, all hell breaks loose...and Alex's life will never be the same. Book 2 is just as exciting and powerful as book o1; Ale, and those left, have discovered that another bunker is out there and leave before they are overcome and destroyed. It turns out that "out there" is just as dangerous as it was in the bunker. But they have to try to travel through a world that longer is the world they knew. Dangerous creatures and discoveries are at every turn, some good and most bad. Grab this exciting book and forward to the next. Book 3 Evolution - Dang didn't write a review for this one either, have to admit that writing reviews were a fairly new thing for me back when I read books 1, 2, and this one 3. But here I go; Alex, along with old and new acquaintances, must take action to try and save their world. They must leave the safety of their new "sky" home and find others that have survived. This will mean having to deal, not only with the new danger on earth but with those survivors who may be just as dangerous to live in this new world. They must somehow work together to overcome the personal and worldwide loss. Alex maybe just a boy but this world will make him so much more. Whew, this is such an amazing world-building apocalypse adventure.

I started to dislike the main character because he was so forgetful and unlucky with his equipment. I found that the main character too often found all sorts of loot then conveniently forgot, lost or had blown up these very valuable goods. First he forgets his bag, then he rushes out of a mountain fortress and forgets his bag, he is ambushed and has his stuff taken away from him. Too much of this in the novel for my taste. It made me stop reading what otherwise might have been a good series. If this was a roleplaying game I would lose my mind that the GM was doing this to me.

It's rare I write a review, even more rare for me to purchase anything on google play, when it comes to books. I discovered this hidden gem and delved right in. I'm a fanatic about the fallout game series(bottle caps for currency, in this book batteries, etc..), so this drew me in immediately. I've got to admit, I'm very impressed by his storytelling, I don't often check out authors I've never heard of before unless they have been recommended. I am VERY glad I did. Characters are great and the plot is unique. Kyle has earned 5 stars and I am definitely 'buying' the next few installments after getting the omnibus for free.
