Even though he was on good terms with the British commissioner of Patna, Kunwar Singh was clear that his loyalties lay with the mutinying sepoys. He and his band of men caused enough disruption to have the British baying for his arrest. Sasaram, Rewa, Ramgarh, Atraulia – he seemed to be everywhere at the same time. And they never got him.
