This book is a discourse on first seven chapters of the Gita. Swami Ramanand, author of the book, has explained the verses of the Gita in simple and lucid language. The exposition helps in understanding the Gita. The book explains karma yoga. Karma yoga is devotion to one's duties and responsibilities in life and the willingness to discharge them in the spirit of sacrifice. It holds significant importance. Individual focus is on performing his duties and responsibilities without attachment to the outcome or fruits of his actions. The goal is to act with a sense of selflessness, dedicating the results of one's actions to higher power or for the greater good of humanity. Karma yoga purifies the mind, reduces ago, and ultimately leads to peace and satisfaction in life, To practice karma yoga one needs to acquire knowledge of the required karma and. the necessary skill to perform it perfectly. The focus of the practitioner is on the quality of his karma and not on the result because there are other factors beyond his control, which contribute to the outcome.

About the author

Swami Ramanand was born 16 December 1916 in Lalitpur in Uttar Pradesh State. His mother died when he only two and a half years old. He was brought up by his elder sister and his sister-in-law. After the death of his mother his father with family. returned to their ancestral Village Veriwal in the Amritsar district. He was brilliant in his studies. He did his post- graduationn in philosophy from Lahore University. He studied various scriptures, including the Gita and works of Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekanand and various other philosophers and scholars, That inspired him to take his life to a higher level of consciousness. He learned to practice yoga and meditation. He became a saint in 1940 at the age of 24 years. He received his spiritual training from Shri Swami Satyanandjee of Hoshiarpur. After his spiritual training Swami Ramanand' did his sadhana in Digoli, a village in Almora and attained divinity. He travelled to many holy places including Mount Kailash and Mansarovar. He believed that spiritual elevation is the ultimate objective of human life. He wrote many books relating to spiritual practices. Gita Vimarsh is one of them. He attained Nirvana young age of 36 years.
