About the author

In 1990 John Duncanson joined the Ministry of Defence police and in 2001 was seconded by the United Nations to act as a UN peacekeeper in a post-war Kosovo. He spent a total of just under 5 years working and living in Kosovo as an international civilian police officer whilst upholding the law and training and subsequently becoming a monitor, mentor and advisor to the new Kosovo Police Service.
