Jeremy Browne attempts to a clear and understandable definition of Liberal Democrats which has always been somewhat elusory. In this concise book on Browne lists some of the key tenets of the Liberal democrats and why you should vote for them. The first half of the book seem to focus on libertarianism, mainly civic libertarianism, even though Browne reiterates the word liberal till ad nauseam. While parts of the book, mainly when it came to discussing democracy, took a basic and watered down theme from Karl Popper's "The Open Society and its enemies." Lastly Browne looked at Globalisation and took a positive stance on that, and how the Liberal Democrats would manage and handle Globalised Britain. This mainly focused on economic liberalism, the free market, and HS2. Overall, the book was average, and tried covering an array of topics while only lightly touching on them. This is its very downfall, as it never extrapolated on any idea more than a sentence or two.
