This is book six in The Impossible Mission Suspense Series and it is Danni and Lars story. Danni was a top secret biochemist but after being kidnapped and almost killed she decides to change her life by being a personal bodyguard who can use a gun and knows martial arts and now she is a bodyguard for a famous rock star who has a stalker. Lars is a special ops marine who rescued Danni when she was kidnapped and even though he can't seem to forget her and thinks of her often and he knows that she is trouble he decides to stay away from her and that seems to work fine until he gets a phone call that he was not expecting. Where will it all end, will Lars be able to protect Danni and will she let him or will she decide that she can take care of herself and put them both in danger. Wow I loved this story so much and look forward to reading more books in this series. This is the first book that I have read by Jackie Delecki but definitely not the last as it was so well written and so addictive. I voluntarily reviewed an Arc copy of this book. These Mission: Impossible books just get better and better. Although this book could be read as a stand alone there are references and character appearances from the previous books. This one is about Lars and Danni. Since Danni's kidnapping rescue she has taken self defense courses and is now a bodyguard for a rock star, but is posing as his girlfriend. Danni is trying to find a stalker, but isn't having much luck. Her friend, Reeves is worried about her so he asks Lars to go check on her and possibly help her. Danni would prefer to not have anything to do with Lars because he makes her feel things she would rather not because she has already be burnt by one womanizing man and she doesn't want to go there again. Unfortunately in the course of Danni's search for the stalker she comes to the attention of a high ranking member of a drug cartel and her life is put in danger. Lars rescues her and vows to protect her from further harm. What happens when these two are forced to share limited space? Can each of them let go of past hurts and perhaps form a future together? Can Lars and his team keep Danni safe? I know that you will enjoy reading this book to find out the answers to these questions and more. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
