Ian McDonald is a science fiction writer living in Northern Ireland, just outside Belfast. His first novel was Desolation Road 1988, winner of the Locus award. His most recent novel is Wolf Moon, the second part of the Luna trilogy, available from Tor in the US and Gollancz in the UK, which has sold in 16 different languages. He's a Hugo, John W Campbell Memorial Award and Phillip K Dick award winner, and has been nominated for every major SF prize. He worked for 16 years in television development, in everything from animation to documentary to childrens' TV, and has taught at the prestigious Clarion West workshop.
