About this eBook

After seven long years in the Delta Quadrant, the crew of the Starship Voyager™ now confront the strangest world of all: home. For Admiral Kathryn Janeway and her stalwart officers, Voyager's miraculous return brings new honors and responsibilities, reunions with long-lost loved ones, and for some, such as the Doctor and Seven of Nine, the challenge of forging new lives in a Federation that seems to hold little place for them.

But even as Janeway and the others go their separate ways, pursuing new adventures and opportunities, a mysterious cybernetic plague strikes Earth, transforming innocent men, women, and children into an entirely new generation of Borg. Now the entire planet faces assimilation, and Voyager may be to blame!

This book was published 2 years after Voyager's season finale. In 2003. The author wrote for multiple universes and was writing Star Trek a bit before this book. It was pretty well written. It ends on a cliffhanger because it's Part One. Part Two The further shore isn't on Google books. If someone told me those two books was written to be one book I'd believe it. But it is the beginning of the new stories It captured the characters fairly well and is an interesting story. I bought this to follow Seven's story to Picard. But prepare to buy the second book that finishes this story up on a different ebook platform. I would highly recommend if you are interested in Voyager after the TV show ended. The latest books are published 2023 or 2024 at this time.

The Voyager relaunch series is not off to a good start with this one. Not only did the author apparently forget how the TV series ended, they've latched onto one of the very worst ideas from it that's already been done to death in several other awful books and a dreadful video game or two. My one regret is that this is an eBook, and I cannot put it through a paper shredder in a bid to do its (lack of) quality justice.

Pretty good plot, but I feel like the author comes up just a bit short when it comes to the Voyager crew. The characters are definitely recognizable as themselves, but there are certain small things that seem a bit off and to be quite honest, the writing style reminded me a little of Twilight (a huge turn off for me). The book also ends very abruptly, and feels like it should come with a disclaimer - You must buy the sequel in order to read the whole story. $16 for a complete e-book seems kind of high to me. In contrast, for half the price you can get Jeri Taylor's Mosaic which I felt captured the characters a little bit better. If you're a hardcore Voyager fan and feel like spending the money, get this. Otherwise, there are better ones out there.
