I really enjoyed Sindy and Ryan’s love story in Home to the Outback by Nicole Flockton, book one in her Welcome to Bunya Junction series. Being abandoned as a child and raised by the local doctor, Ryan Flanagan left Bunya Junction, following in his foster dad’s footstep; never planning to return to a town that judge him. Ryan, a renowned plastic surgeon, returned only to pay his last respects to the man who opened his heart and home to a lost and abandoned boy. Sindy Carruthers returned to Bunya Junction after becoming wounded, wary, and shamed by a relationship that went wrong; as well uncomfortable to continue working as an ER nurse. Welcomed home by her family and a supportive community, she was able to return to nursing, helping Colin, the local doctor and managung the local medical practice. When Colin dies in a car accident, Ryan and Sindy discover they were left equal shares of the general medical practice. Staying in Bunya Junction wasn’t part of the plan as Ryan takes over the practice, but working with Sindy and taking care of the town’s residents has its own appeal. Soon, Ryan is falling under the spell of not just Sindy, his old friend, but the residents too, who have opened their arms and accepted him this time around. Now, if only he can convince Sindy of his change in plans, his feelings and his love for her. Ms. Flockton wrote a passionate and emotional story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with chemistry, intense conversations, and endearing characters giving Sindy and Ryan a chance for a future together. I highly recommend Home to the Outback to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This story is a wonderful start to the author’s new series centered around Bunya Junction, a town in Australia. Ryan Flanagan is a prestigious plastic surgeon in Sydney whose childhood was spent in Bunya Junction. Abandoned by his father when he was 6 years old, the town’s much beloved physician gave him a home and the possibility of a life better than he ever expected. But Ryan never wanted to go back . When he’s at a crossroads in his life, he receives a call that would change his life forever. Sindy Carruthers is the nurse of the mentioned physician and the sister of one of Ryan’s best friends in town. She calls Ryan to deliver bad news about his mentor. Returning to Bunya Junction was a drastic change for him. A change he never wanted but one that would open his heart and his mind to new possibilities of finding hope, love and a new goal. Especially when he finds the one that completes him and has him seeing that living in the moment is more important than the what-ifs. This introduction to the series will leave you wanting to read more stories of this town and it’s inhabitants. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Riveting small-town romance! Ryan leaves his career as a big city plastic surgeon to rush to the bedside of his mentor, whose dying wish is for Ryan to take over his local general practice clinic. Even more surprising is that he only inherits half of the practice - the other half goes to his childhood best friend's twin sister, Sindy, who has worked there as a nurse ever since she came home a few years earlier. Fight it though they may, their fierce attraction and the life-and-death pacing of the job they share catapults these two into a steamy relationship, despite what the town might say and despite the other plans they each had. The story was instantly captivating, and while the end is known right from the start it's still an engrossing read with fascinating characters and a delightful small town community. I read it straight through in one sitting and loved every bit of it. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
