About this ebook

“‘Level up even while offline’?! That’s not a game on ‘easy mode’—that’s just an AFK game!”

The online game Yamada Kenichi had been playing religiously is shutting down its servers, leaving him with a void in his heart. He looks for a new game to fill it, but everything he finds is way too easy. The kind of game he likes—the kind punishing enough to make players want to spend thousands of hours on it—just isn’t around anymore.

“What’s this? ‘You are invited to a game that will never end.’”

Kenichi stumbles upon an untitled game, one promising incomparable challenge with unprecedented potential. Without hesitation, he selects the “Hell Mode” difficulty. Lo and behold, he finds himself reincarnated in another world as a serf!

Now called Allen, he sets out to unlock the secrets his mystery-laden Summoner class; without the convenience of walkthroughs, game guides, or online forums, he must grope his way to the top of his new world!

Currently starting book 5. I am writing my personal comment at Book 1. FINALLY, a protagonist that is not OP from the start, nor has a harem by the end of books 2, 3, or 4. But the protagonist thinks to improve himself, as well as his party. Not the extreme stupid cliché jokes all the time, but well placed ones. Truly, this has been a series I just kept on reading, book by book! All hail the summoner! I need MORE, as I noticed there is only 1 book left after book 5 *cries* Extra bonus info: These books, in the series, last OVER 300 pages each, instead of regular, other authors (makes me cry for joy). my opinion is Love out of 5

Pretty good story. The characters feel authentic and well-written. The ending even made me feel a tear coming in. Never once almost cried for a book before.

Well, I was coming in expecting your average Mary Sue MC to just become the next Anos Voldigoad but after giving it a try, I was genuinely surprised how invested I am into the growth of our main character, Allen, and using his general knowledge of mmorpgs to level up his stats and skills. Although the novel is called Hell Mode, unfortunately, most of the hellish trials is just progression based difficulty instead of mobs gaining increased stats in proportion to a characters's difficulty setting that you'd come to expect from your average RPG. That still didn't deter me from enjoying the journey Allen set foot to increasing his stats while also being responsible for the well-being of his family in the game. The pacing for the story overall is perfect, Nothing felt rushed and I thoroughly enjoy how our main character slowly but surely become stronger. I wholly recommend reading this one if you enjoy experiencing the journey of a character growing stronger.
