The Master Chief and Blue Team are deployed by the UNSC to Alpha Corvi II, a precarious human colony world, seeking to halt the Covenant's efforts to uncover something hidden below the planet's surface.

Alex Irvine’s original fiction, including BUYOUT, A SCATTERING OF JADES, and ANTHROPOCENE RAG, has won numerous awards, hit best-seller lists and been translated into more than a dozen languages. He has written several games for Marvel and other studios, and done story development on game projects for Blizzard, Amazon, and Ubisoft. Among his nonfiction and reference works are THE VERTIGO ENCYCLOPEDIA, DC COMICS YEAR BY YEAR, and THE COMIC BOOK STORY OF BASEBALL. He lives in Maine.
