Great Expectations is written by famous English writer Charles Dickens. This story is the first person account of Pip, an orphan, who is adopted by his cruel sister and brother-in-law, who adores him. He comes across two people who change the course of his life – an escaped convict and the weird Miss Havisham. Pip falls in love with the beautiful but proud Estella, whom he would continue to love throughout his life. Soon, he finds luck to meet good people and expects to lead a better life as a gentleman. However, his great expectations come to an end sooner than thought when Pip meets the convict again.
