Oh, those Deep Six Security guys, you just have to love them. These are some bad*ss guys, and they get into more hot water than they can handle sometimes. Take Grayson Jennings, for example. He's just trying to do his job, setting up the next office for the Deep Six folks, when he is blindsided by a very small, very feisty, very Italian whirlwind with plenty to hide. Michaela 'Mickie' Girabaldi has definitely found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. On the run from some very bad men, Mickie's just looking for a way to stay alive. When her search brings her to the offices of Deep Six Security, and a second meeting with Gray Jennings, she's less than thrilled. I love this series, and Becky McGraw might have just written my favorite of them yet with GRAY MATTER. While there is plenty of the usual suspense, I found myself laughing out loud at the banter between Gray and Mickie. Clearly, neither one was ready for what they'd gotten themselves into, and there is plenty of humor, as well as scenes so steamy that a fan and a cool drink are nice to have on hand. Having all of the usual suspects on hand to keep things jumping was a pleasure, and meeting Mickie's brother, Dante, seems like a great lead-in for another book that Becky needs to give us. All in all, GRAY MATTER is 4 action-packed, sexy, laugh until you cry stars, and a definite must-read for fans of the Deep Six books.

Gray Matter – Deep Six Security #5 by Becky McGraw – 5 stars “Every one of us has had trouble of some kind, but we didn’t run from it. We had the courage to run toward it, together, to reclaim our lives.” This is the 5th book in the Deep Six Security series and it is the first one I have read. It read well as a stand-alone and while I knew there were characters whose stories had already been told, it didn’t make me feel I was missing something – it just made me want to go back to where it all began. Grayson Jennings “Gray” “The Big Dill” and Michaela “Mickie” “Jersey” are the main characters of Gray Matter. They meet at a coffee shop when Mickie is trying to pay for her coffee. “Lady, could you please finish playing Let’s Make a Deal with that purse? I have to get back to the office.” I really feel like this line could sum up the whole book. There is humor and sexy times and a mystery to be solved. Mickie and Gray both bring different personalities to the story that balance it out perfectly. I really enjoyed reading this story and look forward to reading the entire series. Becky McGraw has just become a “one-click” author for me.

Hilarious to see Gray so ruffled and bewildered! Grayson has been a fixture throughout the Deep Six series, he is calm, organised and always in control......a very grey, structured and predictable existence which is exactly as he likes it, until Mickie comes crashing into his world, knocking him flat on his back and leaving him gasping for air and completely bewildered. Never before has he struggled to focus on work, he constantly finds his mind wandering back to those delicious curves. Mickie is a small, feisty, Italian whirlwind who's life has exploded in her face, leaving her running for her life and unsure who she can trust. She is packed full of personality and sparks, sparks which Gray manages to fan into an inferno almost every time he opens his mouth. Can they keep their mouths, bodies and tempers under control long enough and Mickie alive long enough to follow the money trail, find her cousin and stop the cartel? Gray and Mickie are amazing together, as are the rest of the Deep Six Team who take great pleasure in pushing the usually calm and unflappable Gray to his limit at every possible opportunity. Dante was also fantastic - this was his first appearance and I cannot wait to read his book in the new series Deep Six East - yay! It will give me great pleasure to see him brought to his knees by an amazing woman!
