Why isn't this a movie yet? Don Tillman is differently wired than most people around him. He has his set ways and is annoyed by change or disturbances to his schedule. And he's looking for a life partner. Rosie flouts almost everyone of Don's expectations in a wife, and yet Don couldn't let her go. He has to overcome his lack of social skills and try to break through the hard crust of Rosie's emotional barrier, a good enough goal to power the book. I feel that the book makes light of those on the spectrum at times. i had to remind myself that this was just a feel good story and I shouldn't attach much reason to it despite it featuring numerous scientists. The first person pov is nicely done and the habitual list making was refreshing rather than reading a cyclical thought process of an insecure protagonist. The supporting characters seem interesting but the fist person pov limited their scope in the story. Which was fine, by the way. I loved the scene where Don begins to empathise with the graduate who had help in writing his essay. My other favourite scene was when Don makes a new friend at a baseball game. Like I said, this would make a really good rom com.

The sample misled me to thinking there will be more scientifical research on choosing your lifetime partner, with more people included in the wife project. To be honest I skipped through a lot of pages half way through and just read the final chapter. I took Don's survey though and I'm a 68 lol

I loved this book and became totally immersed in Don's strange world. Some parts were 'laugh out loud' funny but I found I was really willing him on to get the girl!
