The cover drew me in, as did 80s nostalgia references like Stranger Things, but found it slow and drawn out, took ages to get going, the middle section particularly, started skipping and reading only dialogue to see what happens, Grady needs to work on his pacing

Ah. The sweet, lingering scent of the 80's. Something between Jean Naté and Lagerfeld. Izod polos and Sun-In hair lightener. Distant echoes of a cheer long forgotten. '...Suceed! Sucess! Reach for the top!' Perfect read to kickoff the autumn blooms and diluted afternoon sunshine. Here's to spiked apple cider and reading in a cozy corner.

Growing up in the 80s myself this book took me back! Great story! I finished it in less than 24 hours, it was that hard to put down.
About the author
Grady Hendrix is an award-winning novelist and screenwriter living in New York City. He is the author of Horrorstör, My Best Friend’s Exorcism, We Sold Our Souls, and the New York Times bestselling The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, which is being adapted into a series by Amazon Studios. Grady also authored the Bram Stoker Award-winning nonfiction book, Paperbacks from Hell, a history of the horror paperback boom of the ’70s and ’80s.
