Reverend Dr. Thomas De Witt Talmage was a well-known preacher and clergyman in the United States during the late 1800s. At the height of his pulpit ministry, Dr. Talmage preached to thousands of people each week and held pastorates in the Reformed Church in America and the Presbyterian Church. During the last years of his life, Dr. Talmage ceased preaching and devoted himself to editing, writing, and lecturing.
