About this ebook

The Philokalia is a collection of texts written between the fourth and fifteenth centuries by spiritual masters of the Orthodox Christian tradition. First published in Greek in 1782, translated into Slavonic and later into Russian, The Philokalia has exercised an influence far greater than that of any book other than the Bible in the recent history of the Orthodox Church.

one of the most powerful books for spiritual meditations and the transformation of one's soul. these contemplations and proverbs will help you be successful as an ascetic and will heal you from the wounds of your mental traumas. I recommend this book both to anyone who is new to Orthodox asceticism and to those who are experienced monastics. I will be quoting from this book hopefully quote regularly and of course it is only the first volume!
