Die aus dem Nachlaß Franz Hipler's in der "Zeitschrift für die Geschichte und Altertumskunde Ermlands" 12, 1899, S. 567—600 veröffentlichte. Chronik der Stadt Allenstein" bedarf, was den Inhalt und was die Art der Edition angeht, mannigfacher Berichtigungen und Vervollständigungen. Sie nennt sich "Chronica" und ist ein halbstarker Band in Folio, der sich Abteilung I, Fach 1, No. 1 des Magistratsarchivs zu Allenstein vorfindet. Die beiderseitigen Holzdeckel der Handschrift sind mit farbigem, teilweise gewelltem Papier überzogen und zeigen mehrfache Siegel- und Verpackungsspuren.
