"Le bagattelle sono brevi composizioni per uno o più strumenti, dalla struttura libera e dal carattere vario. Celebri sono quelle di Couperin, Beethoven, Liszt e, nel '900, Bartòk, Webern. Le Bagattelle per chitarra di Enrico Renna, composte tra gennaio e marzo 2019, sono cinque: Notte, Vita moderna, Elegia (in memoria di Giovanni De Falco), Sterminator Vesevo (da La ginestra di Giacomo Leopardi) e Tremulo il rimembrare (da Leopardi). Nel presente lavoro alcuni parametri nascono dalla traslitterazione di elementi poetici o testuali. Il carattere è generalmente lirico, ad eccezione di Vita moderna che ha un'articolazione vivace e frenetica nell'utilizzo di materiali multiseriali. La scrittura strumentale tende a creare universi sonori singolari."
