This children's book is a collaborative work between CHEP and the Superfund Research Program (SRP) at the Louisiana State University aimed at delivering messages about the effects of EPFRs on human health and the role of antioxidants in preventing or reducing damage. Particle air pollution has been linked to adverse health outcomes and this book will introduce new research demonstrating particles containing environmentally persistent free radicals (EPFRs) could be part of the reason for ill health. Particle air pollution and EPFRs are caused by traffic pollution, industrial sources, and wildfires.
Here is a snippet of the book - "Willy says: I'm Willy! I get wheezy when things from the environment make me sick. One winter evening a big gust of wind blew across the street...
Willy looked out the window... He noticed the gust of wind was filled with tiny specks of dust.
It was Eddie and his EPFR gang!"
