C Wolfe
The main character is spineless, vapid and boring. The dialogue is trite, the characters are one-dimensional, and the story is tired. The attempt to convey characters utilizing Gullah borders on racist. Our protagonist falls to absolute pieces upon learning her son may have a learning disability, and then spends the rest of the book ignoring him in order to indiscriminately screw every other male character who presents himself. This book is best used for kindling. Don't waste your time with it.

I would like this wonderful author to continue the plantation series with these remarkable characters. What becomes of fannie mae and trips daughters, how does matthew and his bride fare, what about jenkens and his life, and eric. I want this book to continue with the finality such as Ladies Of The Club.
