Readers Love the Hunt for Jack Reacher Series and Diane Capri:

"I 'stumbled' on this title and was attracted to it as I am a Jack Reacher fan. Loved the story and the author's writing style. Couldn't wait for more so I purchased [Raw Justice] and want more Jennifer Lane - please?! Fatal Distraction is also on my Kindle to read list!"

"I have been a Reacher fan for years and was excited when I heard of Diane Capri's take on 'Finding Reacher'. 'Don't Know Jack' is a good companion to Child's Reacher books and recaptures the flavor of the Reacher mystique. I am waiting anxiously for the next book in the series and the next and the next, and so on."

Back in the day, there was a TV series—The Millionaire—about a philanthropist who would give people—carefully selected—a million tax-free dollars. Lauren Pauling is on a similar mission, with carefully defined objectives, with resources that are coveted by—one of those adversaries whom Capri brings into sharp focus using wide strokes of overview and the finest of details; the first a pallet knife and then the most delicate of brushes, to draw an analogy. I’m not one of those reviewers who gives up the plot lines and spoilers. I want you to read this tale. Diane Capri has a close authorial relationship with Lee Childs and it shows in how she treats the cross-over characters. And this is her magic. Three are especially significant in this Kim/Carlos journey. Capri got the Childs’ persona of the two and what she does with the baseline is exponential Lauren Pauling is a retired FBI investigator we met in Childs’ THE HARD WAY. She left the agency, opened a small private investigation firm. Then she met Reacher. Go read the Childs’ book for the background. Childs did a great job of showing her tough side. In Pauling’s case, she needed a mission, her life had been mission-oriented, Reacher gave her one Capri, however, develops something much different in Reacher. Often described as one of the most perfect killing machines the US Army ever trained, he has the ability (some how grafted to his personality by his father’s bird-watching and his French mother’s Continental sensibility) to bring out the best in those he touches…at least the ones who don’t need a righteous termination. . Lamont Findley, whom we met in Childs’ first Reacher novel THE KILLING FLOOR has been a constant through-out the SEARCH FOR REACHER series. He was a run-down Harvard Ph.D. in a backwater Georgia cop shop when Reacher arrived. He quickly became a shadow figure with a direct POTUS reporting and a carte blanche mandate. He states openly in this book that something happened during his time with Reacher that changed him. Reacher, of course, is ever-present and not there. We get glimpses; these glimpses show the caring and nurturing side which Childs rarely gives up. His ability to give the antagonist his/her comeuppance is not underplayed however. One is left, at times, wondering if it really WAS Reacher pulling the trigger or igniting the fuse… Finally, Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar. An agent on the way up; an agent hanging on, barely. The Herculean tasks they have been assigned are changing them, episode by episode. Kim is becoming more than a forensic field agent and Carlos more than a charity case being assigned desk duty for the next twenty years. A mission. This story will grab you. My Kindle tells me it will take 3 hours to read. I devoured it in less, not because it is an easy read, it is not. Capri uses a quasi-Rashomon system based on the story’s time-line…pay close attention. And drink coffee--like Reacher--medium-sized house blend-black.

I didn't think it was possible for this series to get any better, but I sure was wrong. Wow. Reacher is everywhere and nowhere as FBI agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar track an enigma wrapped in the veil of a ghost. What is Reacher up to...if he really is alive. Or did he die in the explosion at the end of the previous book? Was it him who watched Agent Otto as she slept, or just the ghost of Reacher as he continues to haunt her thoughts, haunt even her dreams after...well, just after. I'll leave it at that. Dead or alive, somehow he's involved with a whole bunch of missing money that sends this book on a thrilling road filled with twists and deadly curves, including the curves of Lauren Pauling. Finally, we get a clue as to the woman that may have hold Reacher's heart. She might even know where he is and what his game is. Or she could be as elusive as Reacher. As deadly. The plotting is excellent in this novel, the storytelling nearly flawless, but what hooked me, as it has in previous episodes, is the oh-so human evolution of Otto into her own skin, her own power, and her place as a lead agent in the FBI. She's got her own story that is almost as enigmatic as Reacher's (she makes no effort to stop her fall), that in many ways mirrors Reacher's story. She has her fears and her scars, but she's obsessed with Reacher and acts fearlessly on instinct, driven by her determined to find and understand a man equally determined to remain hidden, and bring him to justice. But what exactly are his crimes? A thoroughly enjoyable read, a satisfying thriller, and a complex web of characters and their fragile ties. Above all, this is excellent storytelling that touches the heart.

The well written characters draw you deeper into the story and makes it hard to put down. It's a fast paced tale that keeps you guessing as you try and figure out what will happens next. As always, I found the race against the odds very enjoyable and I'm looking forward to more adventures of Special Agents Kim Otto and Carlos Gaspar.
