About this ebook

The child he didn't know he had . . .

Andrew Yates has come to a decision: it's time to stop sowing those oats and start a family. But searching for a bride isn't as simple as he'd hoped, and many of the respectable women of his acquaintance feel . . . lacking. Then beautiful, feisty Wilhelmina "Billie" Wells arrives at the family ranch with a toddler in her arms, claiming Drew is the father!

The woman he didn't know he loved . . .

Billie had no choice but to show up at Destiny in search of Drew. For the sake of their child, she's willing to leave him with his father so the boy can have a better life, but then, before she can blink, she's saying "I do" in front of a preacher in a marriage of convenience. All Billie and Drew have in common is the heat that brought them together, but can their sizzling passion lead to an everlasting love?

4 stars — This one had a fantastic start, I really enjoyed the unconventional relationship between Drew and Billie. You could feel the connection, even as they both hid behind their roles. Then it got kind of crazy, and I was not impressed with the high tempers of Drew and Billie. Thank goodness for Alanza and her bullwhip. Those 2…both too stubborn and hard headed for their own good. At least Billie was protecting her heart, but still. Then things got good again! I enjoyed seeing Billie navigate the tricky waters of being accepted or not accepted. Sometimes the wall around her heart was so high, it was hard to connect with her. But then you’d get a glimpse of her heart and knew she was right to protect it…she just needed the Yates family to bring her in and make her theirs. It was hard to see all the reactions towards her, and realize that that 100% fits in with how it would have happened back then. And they all accepted it too. Meanwhile, my 21st century mind is going “but she had no choice!” It made it hard to read, but I was still satisfied in the end. On Drew’s side, I loved seeing him make an effort with Tonio, and then fall in love. It was so satisfying and adorable. Drew and Billie definitely had chemistry in spades, they were both very passionate people. I loved that you got to see all of their connection, not just the lust though. I thought the Prince stuff took up a teensy bit more plot than I was wanting…most of it was pretty predictable. I enjoyed Addy, but not sure how necessary she was to the story. I appreciated James and Consuela’s super tiny piece of the story more…even if it was hard. Lots of great side story stuff happened that I was hoping for after the first book, so I’m super glad we get to see some of that happening in the background and be a part of it. It’ll be interesting to see how Noah’s story fits in since so much will likely take place away from the ranch…or that’s what I’m theorizing. Still loving the series. It brings me back to the best Harlequins I read in the past, giving me exactly what I’m looking for from them.
