About the author

Deepak Kalaskar B.Tech, PhD is based at the renowned Royal Free hospital in London. He currently heads the MSc course in Burns, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCL and is actively involved in research on nanotechnology and tissue engineering solutions for artificial organs such as breast implants, synthetic nose, ear, skin and bone and tendon tissue engineering.Peter E M Butler, MD, FRCSI, FRCS, FRCS (Plast) is Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCL. He is consultant plastic surgeon and head of the face transplantation team at the Royal Free hospital in London.Shadi Ghali FRCS (Plast), MD, BSc is a reconstructive surgeon with a special interest in complex microsurgical breast and lower limb reconstruction as well as complex abdominal reconstruction and surgical lymphoedema management.
