I am giving this book a 5 but 4.5 is probably more accurate. It gave me exactly what I wanted from a space thriller novel. I came in being a little concerned by some of the reviews and I get the criticism. But I was pleasantly surprised. My biggest complaint is that this could have spent in the haunting phase with a slow burn descent into madness.

Predicted the outcome as soon as they board the ship. It's a wannabe horror/love story with the worst leader you're ever going to see. And the horror aspect of it isn't even horror, it's just a letdown. In one instance one of her crew goes missing and she doesn't even bother to look for her. This was one of the most predictable, uninteresting books I've ever read.

*No Spoilers* Hits all the sweet spots! Definitely a horror, but that's not the focus. You get so caught up in the mystery of the whole situation that the rest of it feels like an isolation nightmare. You can't be sure what's real and what isn't. The main character feels a bit too closed off, but you learn that there is a reason for that. It's been a while since I've had a story that held my attention like this one. Fantastic read! I can't wait for enough time to go by that I can forget about it so I can read it again!
