Marvel's SPIDER-MAN: Hostile Takeover

A great base for Insomniac's take on the Spider Man mythos, detailing the prior events to the game organically. The story plays out much like a detective story, involving mystery and murder, yet still maintaining the classic Spider Man wit and humour you'd expect. Although suffering slow pacing during the middle act, the characters easily sustain your interest. Although non-essential to understanding the game, it helps to set the tone, easily getting readers invested in this new world and its characters.

The game actually released when I was about half way through this book! I completed the game 3 days ago and I just finished the book today. Its just as good to finish as it would have been before the games release! And you don't even need to get the game! All around, this is a great Spider-man book to read for all ages! 😊

Duuude, I finished this book in one sitting because of how much I loved the game. I deeply regret that I didn't read this novel first before jumping right into the game because thinking about it now, everything that happened in the game felt more HEAVY than they already were after reading this. Will definitely play the game again right after, it would be my fourth run now lol
