About this ebook

Saturn’s moon, Rhea, hides many secrets…

The Vault is the most secure archive in the Solar System, or so everyone believes. Melanie Destin desperately needs to get inside and knows someone who can help her.

But when she gains access to the facility, what she discovers should not be possible.

Something has destroyed the archive, and now it hunts her.

With her ship sabotaged, Mel must survive long enough to escape Rhea with the secret she’s uncovered.

If she fails, a force will be unleashed that will kill millions, and forever change the balance of power in the Solar System.

Mel Destin will need to use every trick at her disposal for any hope to get out of this one, but will it be enough?

Rhea's Vault is the 3rd in a series that tells the story of Doctor Melanie Destin. We know of the doctor from the Mars Ascendant series where she gains the nickname Mother of Mars. That is probably my biggest nit to pick in reading this series. I know Mel has to live to take on another day (unless Mr. Pruden has a clone of her in the wings), so I know she has to survive the death traps she is in, it is just how she is going to do it. Dr. Mel is the ships doctor on the Requiem space freighter. Should be a quiet and simple job. In other books in the series she takes on a run away and tries to help her of some nanites that have taken over her system who later gets a more lethal concoction. Now she is working for an agent of the Mars secret police who says he knows where the cure is, it is Rhea's Vault, a vault held by the Jovian collective, a group of 5 families who rule a great deal of space. Her Mars connection insist the cure is there, but the vault is so secure that a small piece of space dust will be burned up before it gets close. What chance will Mel and here associates have to get in. That is where the excitement comes in. A word of warning. Mel has a potty mouth. I understand the need to have a character act like that however I do feel the author uses the F-bomb as a shock value. For me, it is not shocking anymore and gets in the way of a good story that it has to be used. Also there is an incident of sexual encounter off screen that gets referenced throughout the rest of the book. For that reason if you are a parent of a YA reader you might want to check the book out before you let your child read it. Good story, good action, kept my interest, I recommend it. I did receive an ARC of this book but this is an honest review.

This is part three of the prequel series featuring Mel Destin. And, I think this is the best of the series so far! This isn't just sci-fi. It's got everything. Action, political issues, friendships and so much more. It's actually nice to see the development of the character and get a better feel for how she became the woman she is in the later books. As always, the pace is excellent and the writing flows easily. The characters are nicely developed and their dialogue is believable. I would happily and highly recommend this book and it's whole series. And I'm happy to do the same for all other books for this author.

This is brilliant !! Believable characters, non-stop adventure and a great writing style keeps you turning pages as fast as you read them. It's def not the type of book you read a few pages at a time, each night. Once you start you won't put it down till the end!! The unstoppable Dr Mel Destin breaks into The Vault, located on Saturns moon Rhea. It's the most secure place in the solar system but what she finds should not be possible.... And so Book 3 continues the epic adventure of our favourite Dr as her need to know takes her into ever more serious dangerous circumstances. This series just gets better and better with each book. I cannot wait to read the further adventures.
