The second book of Losing Christina series, originally named The Snow, Christina discovers that after she had rescued one of her fellow islanders, boarding with the Shevvingtons at Schooner Inne,she later learns that she has a new roommate. Sweet,naïve, guillble, trusting Dolly. A pixie. Not yet old enough to be in middle school,she,nevertheless,becomes Christina's worry to be her safe anchor in a safe harbor. No matter how many times Christina tells Dolly about the Shevvingtons,she never listens. Dolly then gets into trouble by her being manipulated by the Shevvingtons psychological Pennywise-esqué antics. First her Fears,then slowly being introduced into creating them of her...into being IN those files. Then Christina encounters someone who's a shadow,and more than a nuisance than anyone could ever think of. Next it's Christina going winter mad. Or cabin fever. Or Christina slowly losing herself. Psychological distress? Or is it all just in her head..?
About the author
Caroline B. Cooney (b. 1947) is the author of nearly a hundred books, including the famed young adult thriller The Face on the Milk Carton, an international bestseller. Cooney’s books have been translated into several languages, and have received multiple honors and awards, including an American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults award and a nomination for the Edgar Award. She is best known for her popular teen horror thrillers and romance novels. Her fast-paced, plot-driven work often explores themes of good and evil, love and hatred, right and wrong, and moral ambiguity. Born in Geneva, New York, Cooney grew up in Connecticut, and often sets her novels in dramatic New England landscapes. She has three children and four grandchildren and currently lives in South Carolina.
