About the author

Sally began writing in 1984 while working as Editorial Director of a nationwide children's book club. She has been writing full time since 1995 and has had over 150 books published - from picture books to young readers to young novels. She won the Nestle Smarties Gold Award for her children's novel, Spilled Water, and her Hodder picture book, Shhh! (with Peter Utton), won the Children's Book Award, as well as being runner-up for the Smarties Prize. Keep Out!, Help! and It's the Troll! have followed on from Shhh!, all of them illustrated by Peter Utton, and all of them sharing great elements of surprise and humour, designed to encourage fun interaction with their audience.

Tony Ross was born in London and studied at the Liverpool School of Art and Design. He has worked as a cartoonist, a graphic designer, as the Art Director of an advertising agency, and as Senior Lecturer in Art at Manchester Polytechnic. Tony is one of the most popular and successful children's illustrators of all time, best known for illustrating Horrid Henry and the works of David Walliams. Tony's books have been translated into 40 languages in over 100 countries. He lives in Macclesfield.
