Yoshiki Oshida, MS, PhD

is a Professor Emeritus at Indiana University School of Dentistry and an adjunct professor at University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry. He published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and 13 book chapters in materials science, biomaterials and engineering, and surface modification technology. He has published 4 books from De Gruyter STEM series and 3 books from other publishers. All books are related in materials science and engineering. His research interests are widely diverged in surface characterization and modification of biomaterials, non-destructive fatigue damage assessment, corrosion science and engineering of structural materials, faceology and its related influences in communication, and psychology of people with facial disfigurements.

Takashi Miyazaki, DDS, PhD

is a director of the Miyazaki Dental Clinic, operated in Nara Japan. He is a principal author of 3 serial published articles of an effective technique for enhancing the osseointegration, which is the combined method of Piezo-surgery for site preparation and UV-photofunctional radiation of surface modification of dental implants. He has established a semi-early loading principle, leading to enhance the DRQoL (dental heath related quality of living) of patients. This technique has been gradually recognized and applied in orthopedic surgery area.
