I loved the intermingling of cultures, faiths, and nationalities in Ryan's world in comparison to our own. The behind the scenes plots and the subtle ties that bind them together make you wonder how you missed them later on. Wonderful writing and great mastery of his art. We shall see what the next portion of the story holds and if there is room for improvement in Ryan's storytelling...

Written well and keeps you turning pages just to read more about Vaelin's life. Some times a little hard to follow with the faiths, empires, and the realm but it starts to stick with you as you keep reading. Definately will read the next one.

I don't waste my time or money on books unless they really captivate me. Anthony Ryan is a very good writer, and I believe his next books can only get better and better. He has the gift.
