मुद्दा चाहे पड़ोसियों से संबंध सुधारने की दिशा में चीन यात्रा का हो; लाहौर बस यात्रा हो या कारगिल से दुश्मन को खदेड़ना; आगरा वार्ता हो या फिर से खेल संबंधों की बहाली; परमाणु परीक्षण हो या डन्ल्यू. टी. ओ. पर दो टूक राय या अमेरिका की मध्यस्थता को ठुकराने का फैसला। अटल जी के शासनकाल में देश की अर्थव्यवस्था ने नई ऊँचाइयों को छुआ है। विदेशी मुद्रा भंडार; सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी; आउट सोर्सिंग; किसान बीमा योजना; किसान क्रेडिट कार्ड; ग्रामीण सड़क योजना; स्वर्ण चतुर्भुज राजमार्ग; नदियों का एकीकरण; सागर माला; दूरसंचार सुविधाओं का विकास; ऊर्जा क्षेत्र का विस्तार जैसी दर्जनों योजनाएँ हैं जो अटल जी के कार्यकाल में शुरू हुई और जो आगामी अतीत में भारत को विकसित देशों की पंक्ति में स्थान दिलाने में सफल होंगी।
भारतीय राजनीति को अटल जी का योगदान है-समन्वय की राजनीति; सामंजस्य की राजनीति; मिल- जुलकर राष्ट्रहित में आगे बढ़ने की दिशा देना।
