About this ebook

Queen of Fire is the spectacular conclusion to the internationally bestselling Raven's Shadow series - a powerful tale of desperate battles, deadly politics and epic adventure.

EMPIRES WILL FALL

Queen Lyrna has survived the bloody siege of Alltor. Now she must rally her troops and take back the capital from the Volarian invaders. But driving her hated enemy out of the Realm will not satisfy her lust for vengeance - she wants to pursue them across the ocean and burn their empire to ashes. To do so, she must place her faith in the Seventh Order: men and women who wield terrible powers, born of the Dark itself.

Vaelin Al Sorna would sacrifice his life for his queen - and may yet have to. Only by unmasking the Volarians' mysterious Ally can the tide of war be turned. To this end, Vaelin must travel deep into the icebound north, in search of a man who cannot die - and he must do it without the aid of his blood song, which has fallen ominously silent . . .

The book continues with alternating viewpoints which are masterly weaved together to unfold the story at a great depth & pace. Although I must admit I was saddened by the ending. But with its realism comes many brutal events & losses along the way as in the previous books. But I do believe it did come to a conclusion that gave the reader enough of a sense of finality to work. Yet still more could be told after, or prior to this trilogy, should the writer choose to. Highly Recommend still.

Has all the despair of war and victory and like all wars leaves one feeling empty and incomplete. Also having writings at the beginning of chapters that post date the events leave little doubt of the outcome like all movies where you see the best parts in the ads

I enjoyed the book but felt the ending was a little rushed after a huge build up and came away feeling a little deflated. Not as good as Blood Song but still an enjoyable tale which for the most part I didn't want to put down
