La trama promette bene, ma con il passare del tempo si comincia ad intuire come si svlupperà l'intreccio degli eventi. Chi sia il colpevole lo si capisce a metà del romanzo, e quando l'autore pensava che avremmo fatto un salto sulla sedia, alla ennesima rivelazione/segreto di Pulcinella viene da dire "sai che scoperta..." perchè intanto aveva seminato indizi che anche un bimbo del nido avrebbe saputo ricollegare per capire che nessuna conoscenza fatta dalla protagonista è casuale. L'Autore, cui va il mio plauso sincero per aver costruito un'impalcatura thriller notevole, ha mostrato di saperci fare: non un capolavoro imperdibile, ma un'ottima lettura da weekend (impegno: in sei ore si legge tranquillamente, sono 340 pagine scorrevoli e fluide) ma lungi dai maestri che (Lee Child e S. King in primis in quarta di copertina) lo recensiscono un po' troppo entusiasticamente. 4 su 5

About the author

Adrian McKinty was born and grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland during the Troubles of the 1970s and 1980s. His father was a boilermaker and ship's engineer and his mother a secretary. Adrian went to Oxford University on a full scholarship to study philosophy before emigrating to the United States to become a high school English teacher. His books have won the Edgar Award, the Ned Kelly Award, the Anthony Award, the Barry Award and have been translated into over 20 languages. Adrian is a reviewer and critic for The Sydney Morning Herald, The Irish Times and The Guardian. He lives in New York City with his wife and two children.
