About this audiobook

Griffin Hargrove

I was CIA elite. Until a terrorist attack stole my arm and most of my hearing. I don’t know what my old boss, Austin Pritchard, is thinking, hiring a broken relic like me. But he trusts me, and that kind of loyalty is a balm to my shattered self-worth.

Sloane is more beautiful than pictures can show, and bruised in ways that can’t easily be seen. No one has told her I’m her bodyguard, but someone better clue her in soon, because she’s spooked. And the longer I watch her, the more I need to protect her.

Sloane Sanders

None of my unspeakable past bleeds through the images plastered across magazines, cosmetics aisles, and the internet. But now, even as I land the biggest job of my career, that past crawls out of the muck.

When you hide everything about who you are, it’s tough to trust anyone. Until six feet of gorgeousness puts his hard-muscled body between me and a nightmare. A nightmare that’s killed once. And if I don’t find it in my damaged heart to trust Griff, I’m next.

Note: The Gone Rogue series is a spin-off from Patricia D. Eddy’s bestselling Away from Keyboard series. It contains a found-family band of special ops brothers, gruff heroes, and second chances. Each book can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Outstanding Story & Narration🎧 Riveting & Heartfelt! ~ Patricia D. Eddy pens another fabulously thrilling and exciting romantic suspense, the story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it for the entire book. The characters are realistic, relatable, easy to connect with and care about. I adored the two lead characters, each broken and struggling with their own inner demons. Griffin “Griff” Hargrove suffered life altering injuries after a terrorist attack while on a mission with the CIA. Back in the states he is trying to cope with his hearing loss and his new prosthetic arm and hand, he also has anger issues especially with his former boss, Major General Austin Pritchard, the one he served with and who was with him during the attack. So it surprised him when he called, first to direct him to see Dax Holloway at Second Site, and then again to offer him a job. Sloane Sanders was able to escape her prison and life of hell, given a new identity and new looks she has gone on to be a successful model. Her former life left her scarred and it is hard to get past all the atrocities that were done to her. Then the unthinkable happens, her past comes back to get her, luckily her friend has a connection with security and she calls in a favor. That favor brings Griff into her life, armed with Dax’s new technology he is assigned to protect her. He was skeptical at first but his training and instincts make up for his lack of hearing, as well as the new tech Dax provided him with. I just loved how everything played out in this book, the story is brilliantly plotted and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, action, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and a wonderful romance. This is an amazing story and I am loving this series, which is a spin off from the “Away From the Keyboard” series, which is just as amazing and one I can not recommend enough, I love the characters, the camaraderie amongst them and the world Ms. Eddy created, I would never get enough of them. Thank you for another exceptional novel! 🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Sebastian York and Lidia Dornet are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that suited their character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are mega talented and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

This one starts out rough. If you're familiar with Patricia you know she doesn't shy from the tough subjects & gets down to the nitty gritty so with that said, I just feel maybe I should start with the trigger warning because I admit, even though I listen to books with lots of tough subjects, my eyes widened when it started. story is amazing though. Sloane has been through & survived so much. Their demons and battles make them perfect for each other. There is self healing, danger, action, love

I first read the ebook, then listened to the audio book. This story comes alive with the voices in the audio book. These narrators are out of this world, and this, as the second book in the Gone Rogue series, is, in a word Fantastic! I've always said that Patricia Eddy has a way with our wounded warriors, whether they've served in the Armed Forces or whether wounded by life. This book guarantees that, once read, the reader will agree. I have a small handful of "go-to" authors. They're the ones I read when I want to enjoy a book, delve deep into a plot, and make friends with the characters. Many thanks to Ms. Eddy for writing this, but more importantly, for choosing these narrators, which made this book perfection!
