Try intermittent fasting - you won't regret it Well written and an easy read. This book is laid out beautifully and is really well written. Covers a lot of ground and gives you so many options that you’re bound to find a fasting schedule that will work for you. She holds your hand through the entire process. Intermittent fasting is a great and healthy way to lose weight. As the author says it’s a lifestyle, not a diet. I agree with the author that intermittent fasting is easier than you may think. It’s much easier to institute than dieting, and you can do it for the rest of your life. As the author points out, you won’t have to worry about losing weight and then gaining it all back when the diet is “over.” Intermittent fasting makes your life easier; it’s something you can enjoy. I love fast days! So much time to accomplish and no need to feel guilty that I haven’t had time to prepare myself something to eat! That’s what I’m supposed to be doing. I recommend people just starting out to “cheat” a little by eating low or calorie free foods, like celery, lettuce, cucumbers pickles, along with tea if they have a hankering for some flavor. That way you get some nutrition without getting calories. While the author warns against binge eating on non-fast days, I’m not sure this is such a big concern, because when you fast, your appetite will shrink by default over time, and you’ll eat less even on non-fast days ( at least that’s been my experience).

The information in the book could save your life. Many popular and seemingly successful diets postulate that a healthy eating pattern involves three meals per day--a big breakfast, lunch, and a small dinner--along with snacks in between meals. Well, it's time to rethink! The problem lies with our increasingly sedentary lifestyle, sitting in front of a computer and watching TV. I think the essence of this timely and most interesting idea of intermittent fasting is that it prolongs the period during which your body is depleted of sugar stores, giving it more time to burn fat stores. I thought it was going to be difficult, but when I put my trust in the advice of this Registered Dietitian and Sports Nutritionist and followed her easy and comprehensive cooking and eating guide, I started to feel really good, full of energy, and clear in the head. I will keep this up in full trust that this regime helps to lower my blood pressure and keep my weight down.

A must This is really a good audiobook. The tips provided to help you achieve an extended fasting that many believe impossible are absolutely spot on. I personally lost 6kg in 10 days of extended fasting and now I can easily fast every other day or two days in order to maintain my weight. I stopped smoking, I sleep much better, I look like when I was 20 again, and my husband seems to love it as well! It is amazing.
