C. H. Spurgeon was a British Baptist pastor whose work remains meaningful to Christians of all denominations. The father of the modern “mega-church,” Spurgeon is most famous for his pastorship at London’s Metropolitan Tabernacle, where he regularly preached to huge crowds. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were later translated into many languages.
