Lewis Carroll (1832–1898) is the author of one of the world's most cherished books for children. Born in Cheshire, England, Lewis was also a mathematician, logician and photographer. His novels, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking Glass are international bestsellers and are loved by people of all ages.

A veteran of stage and screen, award-winning actress Miriam Margolyes has achieved success on both sides of the Atlantic. Miriam won the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress in 1993 for The Age of Innocence and a Sony Radio Award for Best Actress on Radio in 1993 for her unabridged recording of Oliver Twist. She was the voice of the Matchmaker in Mulan and Fly, the mother dog, in Babe. Miriam played Professor Sprout in the film of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Miriam is also the beloved narrator of many audiobooks and has been selected as one of AudioFile magazine's Golden Voices.
