Most of us remember The Wizard of Oz as the film starring Judy Garland and Bert Lahr. But the film was based on L. Frank Baum's immensely popular Oz series, which was published in the early twentieth century. L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) was an American journalist and writer whose best-known book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, is one of fourteen books in the author's acclaimed Oz series.
