The Werewolf of Bedburg

This story is centered around one of the most famous Werewolf legends that the accused during his execution confessed to being a Werewolf. The confession happened on October 31, 1589. A large crowd gathered in the German city of Bedburg, near Cologne, to witness an execution. The condemned man was Peter Stumpp, a 50-year-old farmer who had confessed to making a pact with the devil. He wasnтАЩt seeking riches; he wanted the ability to turn into a werewolf.
Stumpp suffered terribly during his execution, one of the most brutal on record. He was strapped to a wheel and skinned alive. His bones were broken. He was decapitated and then his body was burned at the stake. As a warning, his head was impaled on a post in the center of the village.
This is where the story begins centuries later in Bedburg by a small group of teenagers that should have let the legend stay a legend. The moon hung heavy and full in the night sky, casting an ethereal glow over the small town of Bedburg, Germany. A group of teenagers gathered in a secluded clearing in the woods, their faces illuminated by flickering candlelight. Among them was Sarah, an adventurous girl with an insatiable curiosity for the macabre, who had convinced her friends that they could summon the legendary Werewolf of Bedburg, Peter Stumpp, from the depths of the afterlife.
"Are we really going to do this?" whispered James, his voice tinged with nervousness as he glanced around the circle.
"Of course we are," Sarah replied, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "This is our chance to become part of something bigger, something otherworldly."
