This story is an emotional, action packed, suspense filled, Rollercoaster full of danger. Ronan was definitely a swoonworthy, protective man who stole your heart when he trusted his instincts and saw a woman who needed him in Zephyr instead of believing the lies being fed. Zephyr luckily broke her usual character and realized he was her hope. There is so much love. The narration was great at bringing it to life...Will's Irish brogue- sigh

A Thrilling Emotional Rollercoaster Ride! Excellent Story & Narration🎧📚🎧 Patricia D. Eddy delivers another amazing romantic suspense set in her “Away From Keyboard” world. It is great to be back in that world for this ninth book of the series, each book stands on its own, but they are all amazing and I recommend enjoying the books in order because characters reappear in each other’s books. If you are new to the series, you will not feel lost or like something is missing, the author provides everything you need to know in descriptive detail. This book is Ronan’s story, former Irish Defense forces and new to Second Site team and he feels like he found where he is supposed to be, his only hope is that his team members accept him. Dax assigns him to his first solo job, he is to track down Zephyr, a trained assassin who is reported to be in Boston. Zephyr made the mistake of getting involved with the wrong people, the Strauss Cartel, she escaped their hold but has been on the run since. The Cartel plays dirty and planted evidence to set her up and now she is a wanted woman in more ways than one. She is looking for the one person who can help clear her name, but every step she makes the Cartel is not far behind. But she is a survivor who is street smart and a chameleon that can adapt to her surroundings. But Ronan has his own skills, and he catches up to her, a first solo assignment well done right? Nope, turns out not is all as it is said to be, including the intel Second Site received. Zephyr has hit rock bottom, can she trust Ronan or will he throw her to the wolves, like her own blood did? This fast-paced, action-packed story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and a romance that was meant to be. Patricia D. Eddy, thank you for another amazing story and a thrilling and emotional rollercoaster ride. 🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Sofia Lette and Will Watt are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit the character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Will Watt played Ronan’s role perfectly, accent and all, Sofia Lette did the same for Zephyr, both were great performing all the secondary roles too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These talented voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this terrific listen.

Both Will Watts and Sofia Lette are new narrators to me, but that didn't deter me from desperately wanting to listen the moment I could get my hands on this audiobook. While I have many 1-click authors, the only time I know I'm guaranteed to enjoy an audiobook is when it's one of Patricia Eddy's. The narrators are always impeccably cast, and with a wide range of accents, emotions and action-packed material to wade through, they hit the mark every single time. Will Watts hit all the right notes with a swoon-worthy brogue that I could honestly listen to all day. He perfectly conveyed Ronan's constant struggle between doing what was expected versus doing what he thought was right. Alongside him, Sofia Lette has quickly become one of my favorite female narrators, by packing all of Zephyr's sass and vulnerability into each and every line. Her broken yet stubborn strength was so clear during the climax of the story, and as a listener, it was impossible not to get swept away. I'd absolutely recommend a listen to this, whether it's your first time through the story, or you're revisiting like me.
