Tentang buku audio ini

The most famous and loved racing story of all time. National Velvet is a classic tale of dreams, ambition and one girl’s belief in a horse. ‘Velvet’ll sit on a horse like a shadow and breathe her soul into it ... I never seen such a creature on a horse.’ Velvet is mad about horses. When she wins a piebald horse in a raffle, she knows he’s something special. His heart is as big as the five-foot fences he jumps, and he’ll do anything for Velvet. Soon, she and her friend Mi have their sights set on the biggest race in England. But can a girl win the Grand National?

Tentang pengarang

Enid Bagnold was born in 1889 and was mostly brought up in Jamaica. She was a nurse and a driver in France during World War I. She married the chairman of Reuters and they lived in Sussex, where she is buried. Enid Bagnold wrote poems, novels and plays, the most famous of which is The Chalk Garden. Annette Chown is a British actress and self confessed chatterbox! She has appeared on television in series and short films such as Casualty and Trollied and, in between this and adding to her growing list of stage and audio work, she harnesses her love of talking (and listening) taking part in role plays for corporate training workshops.
