The culmination of these tales is expressed in attempts of the heroine to avoid the fate of her predecessors. In the tale Mr. Fox Lady Mary becomes a witness of the case when her future husband drags a young rich girl by force in the castle and kills her. She also has found a room full of blood and female corpses. The next day she accuses the groom of murders, presenting the strong evidence - the chopped arm of yesterday victim...
